About Jefferey

Jefferey Spivey is a St. Louis-based author, poet, and journalist and is currently Editor at Northstar Publishing and part of Bennington College’s MFA Writing Seminars. His debut short story collection, The Birthright of Sons, won the 2023 Iron Horse Book Prize. He was also named runner-up for Poets & Writers’ 2023 Maureen Egen Writers Exchange Award and was a 2022 de Groot Foundation COURAGE TO WRITE grant recipient. His short stories have appeared in Evergreen Review, Hive Avenue Literary Journal, Punt Volat, A Gathering of the Tribes, Typehouse, decomp, and Havik. His poems have appeared in Rigorous.
